Jaba Samushia Signs Memorandum of Cooperation between TSU and MAC Georgia

Academician Jaba Samushia, Rector of Tbilisi State University, and Dr. Jeremy James Gaskill, Chief Executive Officer of MAC Georgia, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

 

The participants of the meeting discussed the plans and prospects of future cooperation. In particular, MAC Georgia will ensure the implementation of joint research projects with TSU, as well as provide a training base for the undergraduate psychology and occupational therapy programs of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of TSU, or for the students of the master’s program, and acquaint students with organizational activities.

 

The McLain Association for Children (MAC) Georgia is an American organization that provides support, education, and resources for vulnerable persons of all abilities while building the skills and knowledge of the families and communities that care for them.

 

The McLain Association develops and supports various projects; identifies medical needs; implements preventive measures; provides financial and professional support for educational activities; provides information on the following topics: disabilities, behavior management, special educational needs, and crisis intervention.

 

Under the terms of the memorandum, beginning with the 2023-2024 academic year and for a minimum of four years, the McLain Association for Children will annually fund the tuition of three students in the Occupational Therapy program at TSU’s Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences. First semester students will be selected for funding based on their scores on the Unified National Examinations.
